The Veezu Group – UK’s largest taxi and private hire technology platform

The client:

Founded in 2013, The Veezu Group is the UK’s largest taxi and private hire technology platform with 8 local hubs across the country, including Veezu South West across Bristol, Swindon and Bath. We have supported the group’s UK-wide operation since 2019, primarily promoting its comprehensive acquisitions calendar and extensive charity work, while deploying a consumer-focused campaign during the pandemic to reassure passenger safety.

The campaign:

The acquisition of Sheffield’s City Taxis in early 2023 was the biggest deal in Veezu’s ten-year history, adding another 20 per cent to the size of the business. Veezu has cemented its place as the largest firm in the UK with a fleet almost twice the size of its second-place rival.

Throughout all activity we focused on Veezu’s USP: its three-tap app, which positioned the business as appealing to further potential acquisitions. We raised its profile simultaneously amongst customers and businesses, ensuring blanket coverage in their key geographical areas.

By securing coverage for each acquisition in local, region and key trade media outlets, we were able to promote each hub locally whilst continually positioning the over-arching Veezu brand as a thriving, viable proposition. This was also backed up by the utilisation of social media with a minimal promotional spend to efficiently target audiences with measured results.

The outcome:

Veezu and its regional UK hubs made 13 notable acquisitions between July 2019 – March 2023, with Effective placing 480 pieces of coverage that reached over 2 billion people.

Broadcast, print and online coverage of the campaign appeared in key regional, national and trade outlets including Swindon Advertiser, Swindon Link, This is Wiltshire, The Phoenix Newspaper, Insider Media, BBC News, ITV News, The Sun, The Mirror, Professional Driver and Taxi Point.
